The Power of Love – attracting more patient reviews

It might sound like a personal question but only those patients who thoroughly appreciate a visit to your practice are likely to tell their friends and family about you.
In today’s society, we all recognise the importance of online reviews but do we do anything to attract more patient reviews?
Here’s a few hints and tips to get you started.

Ask
It’s so simple yet how often do you do it? Whether it’s the dentist, nurse or receptionist, if you spot a happy patient, ask them to leave a review on whatever options you have; Google, Facebook, tag you in a social post or email.

It’s hard to ask and you may feel like it’s an ego thing to request a review, but to take the edge off, here’s two simple reasons to justify your request:
Firstly, it helps nervous patients ‘like you’, take the first step to getting the treatment they need. Secondly, it’s a great boost for the team to see that their hard work is being recognised.

Place prompts around the practice
You could use screensavers on chairside monitors so the patient in the chair can see, place cards in the reception area, send an email following an appointment, ‘asking how did we do?’.

Social Media
Regular posts featuring patient feedback not only promotes your service but also prompts others to leave you feedback too.

Website
Do you have a testimonial section on your website? There should be a full page of testimonials with live reviews of your services. Google offers a widget which can be embedded into your website which will display your Google reviews. You can’t pick and choose which ones, it will display them all, but it offers a degree of trust as they come from another source, instead of typed into your website.

Video
Although a little more challenging to find patients who are willing, video testimonials can be hugely powerful.
